What's the distinction between a quilt and a blanket, a cover and a comforter?

A quilt consists of a front and back fabric plus a cushy batting within the center. Quilting refers to the stitches that hold a quilt together. Some quilts are handmade from remnant fabrics to make a colourful design for the highest of the bed. a clear fabric backs the quilt with batting within the center to supply added warmth and cushioning. Then stitches are strategically placed to carry the front, center and back together. In our fine linen business we sold highend baby quilt that were just one color, made up of solid high threadcount Egyptian cotton . The quilting consisted of elaborate hand guided sewing which is applied to secure the front and back together. the ultimate pattern may be a textured relief created by the stiches — and really beautiful. Sometimes the backside fabric was a special color to form the comforter reversible. Most people are conversant in blankets.
